Complete Your Smile With Dentures Or Partials

Are you missing teeth? One, two, three? Maybe you are completely edentulous, meaning you have lost all of your teeth. Missing one or more teeth can make it difficult to chew. If you’re having difficulty chewing you may be missing out on important foods and nutrients that your body needs to stay healthy. Even the loss of one tooth can present a problem. Most people already know what dentures are but maybe they have not heard of partials. Today you can restore your chewing function and complete your smile with dentures or partials.

Dentures vs Partials

Do you know what dentures are?

Dentures are a dental prosthetic used to restore your chewing ability when you are missing all of your teeth either on your upper or lower arch or both. The denture base is made of acrylic or plastic resin and is colored (pinkish) to match your gums. Attached to the denture base are prosthetic teeth. Dentures are not permanent which means they can be removed and are held in place via suction and denture adhesives.

Do you know what partials are?

While dentures are used to replace all of your teeth, a partial denture can replace one tooth, or several teeth. The teeth do not need to be adjacent to one another, but they do need to be in the same arch. Partial dentures are fabricated similar to full dentures, and are also removable, but are held in place via metal clasps that hook to healthy adjacent teeth. They may also rely on suction and denture adhesive to remain in place.
