Three Reasons Not To Ignore a Toothache

This is a busy time of year! If you aren’t taking on special projects and going out of town, then someone may be coming to visit you. If you start noticing (or have been noticing) a twinge in a tooth it can be tempting to close your eyes and hope it will “just go away.” However, it is best to call us for a checkup, or ask questions at a cleaning, when you are unsure, to check things out with a dental expert. There are very good reasons not to ignore a toothache!

Reason One: Unnecessary Stress and Worry

If you have a toothache, it is natural to have some fear. There is no reason to toss and turn, imaging a “worst case scenario” before you have the facts. Did you know that a cold and sinus infection can sometimes cause a temporary toothache? Whatever the reason, it is better to know the reality, than leave it to your imagination.

Reason Two: Catching Problems Early

If your toothache is signaling an issue you (and we) would prefer to take care of it while it is small. A small cavity can be cleaned and filled with a tooth colored filling in a single appointment, to return your comfortable smile. We may be able to help you address the early stage of gum disease (gingivitis) with careful home brushing and flossing.

Reason Three: We Can Help!

No matter the cause of your toothache, we can help. We can answer your questions, and explain the benefits of any procedures we may recommend. Our sedation options will make sure you are comfortable. Our billing experts can help you find answers to insurance and payments questions.
